Well, it’s almost the new year, which means I’ve begun to think about my new years resolutions. Among them is the thought that I’d like to share a little of what I’ve learned over the past two and half years studying and working in the publishing biz. Of course, it’s a lot less than a lot of people, but nonetheless, maybe you’d like to learn along with me. Hence, the reincarnation of Callooh! Callay! my blog about reading, books (both Canadiana and otherwise), as well as publishing technology and maybe even industry news – who knows where the year will bring us?!

A little about me, before we begin—I work at one of the largest independent publishers in Canada, I enjoy lapsang souchong tea, lyric novels, offbeat poetry, and interrobangs. I also live in Vancouver where it rains a lot, thus giving me plenty of time to think about reading, if not actually bringing me to the point of doing it. What one discovers when working on publishing books is that one has far less time to enjoy them. Such is the burden.
